Bride and guests cheering during wedding reception at Aurora garden venue

As New York wedding photographers, we have had the chance to capture some stunning weddings in amazing locations, such as rooftop parties, charming brownstones, and cozy garden ceremonies located in the heart of the city. But a wedding at Aurora Brooklyn is something special!

With its stylish decor, beautiful garden courtyard, and perfect backdrop of classic New York street scenes closeby, Aurora really combines the best of the city in one elegant and intimate setting.

With so many New York wedding venues to choose from, it can be daunting to find the one that truly suits your personality. That is why we want to share a peek into Allie and Connor's chic wedding at Aurora Brooklyn. It was a day filled with elegance, stunning Manhattan views, vibrant city vibes, and the romantic glow of candlelight.

By the end of this blog, you just might find that Aurora is the NYC venue of your dreams!

Where is Aurora Brooklyn?

Aurora BK is situated right in the heart of Williamsburg, which is one of the coolest neighborhoods in Brooklyn and a top spot for weddings in NYC. The charming boutique hotels, beautiful waterfront views, and some amazing restaurants all around the neighborhood create the perfect ambiance for a bridal celebration. In short, it is an ideal spot no matter whether you live nearby or are traveling in from far away.

And the best part is that you are just a stone’s throw from the East River, so those stunning views of Manhattan are always within reach.

To give you an idea of travel times:

  • From Manhattan, it is about 15 to 20 minutes.

  • From JFK Airport, expect around 35 to 45 minutes.

  • From LaGuardia, you are looking at about 20 to 30 minutes.

Getting Ready for a Wedding at Aurora Brooklyn

One of the highlights of A & C's wedding was definitely their stunning Getting Ready experience. They picked a beautiful suite at Arlo Williamsburg that featured floor-to-ceiling windows, offering an incredible view of the Manhattan skyline.

The morning had this wonderfully slow and relaxed vibe. A put on her dress with friends by her side, the skyline serving as a gorgeous backdrop. The natural light brought out every little detail - like the delicate fabric of her gown and the sound of champagne glasses clinking as they celebrated.

Meanwhile, C and his groomsmen were getting ready in a loft closeby, making the perfect modern touch for their photos with the same NYC energy.

Street Portraits in Front of Aurora Williamsburg

One of the things we absolutely love about Aurora Brooklyn wedding photos is that the moment you step outside, you really feel the New York vibe. The streets around there are so classic Brooklyn - you have the brick buildings, hanging lights, iron fire escapes, lively cafés, and that unique urban texture that makes capturing couples a breeze.

Right outside the entrance to Aurora, A and C kicked things off with their first set of portraits. It was a perfect mix of candid moments, soft laughs, and that unmistakable NYC energy you just cannot plan. The streets had a vibrant feel, giving their photos a beautiful blend of romance and the city's raw charm.

However, we should not forget the iconic yellow taxi moment!

You cannot have a New York wedding album without it. A and C used a classic NYC yellow cab for some fun pictures. Those shots - A's dress flowing on the pavement, C helping her in, and that bright yellow taxi against the Brooklyn backdrop - were definitely some of the best from their portrait session.

If you are tying the knot at Aurora, your Brooklyn wedding photographer should definitely make some time for:

  • Some yellow taxi photos

  • Strolling shots along Grand Street to Domino Park

  • Golden hour photos at Charlotte Beach

  • Capturing the Manhattan skyline peeking through the intersections

  • Editorial-style couple portraits against brick walls or murals

It is such a great way to remember that your love story unfolded in one of the most amazing cities in the world!

The Ceremony: A Chic Garden Celebration in Brooklyn

Aurora’s ceremony space is truly stunning - it is a small, private courtyard tucked away behind the venue, completely embraced by greenery. It feels cozy and secluded, yet effortlessly stylish and with incredibly delicious food, all right in the heart of Brooklyn. For wedding photographers in Brooklyn, this is a paradise!

For A and C's big day, they went for a simple but elegant aesthetic. They opted for minimal floral arrangements, used the greenery of the venue, and enjoyed every moment of their ceremony.

The end result was a garden ceremony that had a modern but timeless vibe. With ivy, climbing vines, and natural textures all around, it created a beautiful, organic backdrop for their vows. The atmosphere was so calm and romantic - you could really feel the love in the air.

The Reception: Romantic, Simple, and Full of Candlelight

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Aurora underwent a stunning transformation. The reception space was bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, with gentle music playing in the background, creating a romantic vibe that made the whole evening feel special and cinematic.

A and C chose long banquet tables adorned with taper candles, soft neutral flowers, minimal greenery, and elegant table settings. It was classy and refined - perfect for letting the love and emotions shine through.

The indoor dining area at Aurora has a cozy and welcoming feel, featuring exposed brick, dark wood accents, and dim lighting that pairs perfectly with the candlelit decor for a wedding.

As the night progressed, the celebration shifted to the dance floor, where everyone twirled and twinkled under string lights, the music spilling out into the courtyard as guests reveled under the stars.

Fun NYC Activities to Add to Your Wedding Weekend

If you are getting married at Aurora Brooklyn, make a weekend of it! Some ideas to consider:
