When Chantal and Tomas reached out to me for their NYC elopement photography, I knew this was going to be something special. Their story, spanning continents and cultures, is a true testament to love finding its way. And when they described their vision of capturing their love for each other and New York City, I couldn’t wait to bring it to life!

The Couple's Story: Love Across Borders

Chantal, a talented creative from Lebanon with Armenian roots, moved to her dream city, NYC, seven years ago to pursue her career in motion graphics. Tomas, her high school sweetheart from Denmark with Lithuanian heritage, moved to NYC two years ago to be with her. Their love story, which began 13 years ago in Nairobi, Kenya, led to this magical day, with family flying in from all over the world to celebrate their civil wedding at the New York City Hall.



The Vision for their NYC Elopement: Love, NYC, and Family

Chantal’s request was clear: she wanted their NYC elopement photos to capture not just their love story but also the essence of New York City. With iconic locations like Central Park, the NYC subway, and the Brooklyn Bridge on the itinerary, it was all about blending cinematic romance with candid moments. And with family joining them, this was also a day to celebrate connections and shared joy.

The Photoshoot: Highlights and Iconic NYC Locations

Central Park: Bethesda Terrace & Bow Bridge

We began their elopement in NYC at the breathtaking Bethesda Terrace, where the ornate arches and the fountain provided the perfect backdrop for timeless portraits. The Bow Bridge added an extra touch of elegance with the city skyline peeking through in the background.

Favorite Moment: Capturing Chantal and Tomas wandering together under the arches, with morning light streaming through.


The Subway: NYC’s Pulse

What’s more New York than the subway? We turned the subway ride into a playful and intimate part of the shoot. From candid shots of them waiting on the platform to creative frames inside the NYC subway carts, the photos reflected their adventurous and dynamic personalities.

Favorite Shot: The family gathered inside the subway car, with everyone sharing laughter and excitement.


Brooklyn Bridge: Ending with a Bang

We wrapped up on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, where the couple walked hand-in-hand against the backdrop of the stunning NYC skyline. The crisp fall air and soft lighting made for romantic and dreamy shots.
